Bluebird after the rain Posted by Picasa

Most definitely, an Eastern Bluebird! This is an auspicious day. Posted by Picasa

SQUEEEEEEE!!! I just saw a bluebird! This is the first time I've ever seen one in real life! Posted by Picasa

I've never wanted a tattoo ..

.. but in a few decades' time, I might get one like the one that retired nurse Mary Wohlford has.

Candlelight and tulips Posted by Picasa

Tulips, backlit with a candle. Posted by Picasa

Another artsy tulip shot. The tulips are from my garden. The artwork above the tulips is a pencil sketch done by my great-great uncle, Isaac Cullin. Posted by Picasa

I didn't think this picture would turn out very well, but I like it. Posted by Picasa

Note to self: clean up tulip bed. Posted by Picasa

The prettiest tulip in my very weedy front flower bed. Posted by Picasa

It's almost Lilac Day .. by Monday, they should be in full bloom. Posted by Picasa

What are these? I didn't plant them, yet there they are in the flower bed on the south side of my house. Hmmm. Posted by Picasa

DaVinci Madness

I'm fashionably late to this party, but I finally read The DaVinci Code last week. I thought it was an excellent novel, and I'm looking forward to the movie.

Others - well, not so much. In India, the Catholic Secular Forum has called for Christians to launch a hunger strike - to the death if necessary - to protest the movie.

Now there's a brilliant idea - starve yourself to death, and then you can ask Jesus Himself if he was married to Mary Magdelene or not.

Oh, wait a minute - deliberately starving oneself would be suicide, no? And that's a mortal sin, no?

The jokes just write themselves, don't they?
