It's almost Lilac Day .. by Monday, they should be in full bloom. Posted by Picasa

What are these? I didn't plant them, yet there they are in the flower bed on the south side of my house. Hmmm. Posted by Picasa

DaVinci Madness

I'm fashionably late to this party, but I finally read The DaVinci Code last week. I thought it was an excellent novel, and I'm looking forward to the movie.

Others - well, not so much. In India, the Catholic Secular Forum has called for Christians to launch a hunger strike - to the death if necessary - to protest the movie.

Now there's a brilliant idea - starve yourself to death, and then you can ask Jesus Himself if he was married to Mary Magdelene or not.

Oh, wait a minute - deliberately starving oneself would be suicide, no? And that's a mortal sin, no?

The jokes just write themselves, don't they?

Rick Mercer nails it

Rick Mercer says that Harper et al are a bunch of pricks for refusing to lower the flag on the Peace Tower after four Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan last week.

Mercer is right.

And that's all I have to say about that.

"How do I start this thing, Mom?"
